Create an Exchange Set

The S-57 Exchange Set Editor can be used to create a new exchange set. The table of contents file called CATALOG.031 is created automatically.

An exchange set folder, including an ENC_ROOT folder for the ENC, is created in the selected location. Other files can be included using the Add File command.

A product does not need to be open.

In the Exchange Set Editor:

1. Click Create New.

A second dialog box is displayed.

2. Select a Product Type from the list.

The dialog box changes to suit the selected product type.

ENC

If you select ENC, AML 3.0, IENC, or IENC Overlay, the following option are displayed.

1. Type a name for the exchange set.

This can be any alphanumeric combination.

2. Click Browse to select a directory for the exchange set.

3. Click Apply.

AML

If you select AML, the following options are displayed.

The name for an AML exchange set is generated from the options in the Exchange Set Name group.

1. Select a NATO Country Code.

2. Select a Product ID.

3. Select an Exchange Set Type.

4. Select a Security Classification.

5. Type a three-character Geographic ID Code.

The values from these fields are combined to create the exchange set name. The name is displayed in the group header.

6. Click Browse to select a directory for the Exchange Set Location.

7. Click Apply.
