Save the active layer.
• If the active layer is a database layer, it is saved to the source or product as applicable.
• If the active layer is a feature layer, it is saved to a HOB file and you are prompted for a path and file name.
This command is not available if there have been no changes to the layer or if the active layer is a filter layer.

Procedure: Database layer
1. Make a database layer active.
2. Select the Save Active Layer command.
Any changes on the layer are saved.
Procedure: Feature layer
1. Make a feature layer active.
2. Select the Save Active Layer command.
If this is the first time the layer has been saved, a Save As dialog box is displayed.
3. Select a path and file name for the file and click Save.
The file is saved.
