Paper Chart Editor is a CARIS HPD application for producing and maintaining digital versions of paper charts. Portrayals in Paper Chart Editor are based on the International Hydrographic Organization's (IHO) INT1 and INT2 standards. Custom portrayals can also be applied.
Paper Chart Editor applies the following chart functionality:
• Sheet and panel boundaries for both single- and multi-panel charts.
• Chart elements such as borders, scale bars and legends.
• Cartographic features such as text, annotations and images.
• Geographic features (area, line and point) that represent real-world geographic entities, as well as soundings that represent depths.
• Masking to make charts more readable.
• Saving database charts as standalone charts in PCC format. PCC is a non-database paper chart format used by Paper Chart Composer.
• Export options to a final raster, postscript or PDF file.
Paper Chart Editor is an integral part of the HPD workflow. Many editing functions available in HPD are also available in Paper Chart Editor. For a detailed examination of HPD functionality, see Command Reference.
