The Clean Data Boundary command removes duplicate edges that might be created when applying updates using source features that share edges with the product boundary.
It is important to use this command when updating products to ensure geometries are valid. |
Clean Data Boundary should be used after Apply Selected Changes to Product.
Clean Data Boundary creates new intersections but does not remove intersections that become obsolete when changes are applied. It is strongly recommended that you repair any obsolete intersections before using Clean Data Boundary.
Procedure: Remove obsolete intersections
When a line that intersects the boundary of a product is removed or updated, obsolete intersections are left behind in the form of unnecessary nodes on any line or edge with which that line intersected. You locate such nodes using validations checks then repair or remove them.
1. Make the Product Specific layer active.
First, check and repair any edges that contain pseudonodes:
2. Select the Validation command.
3. Run the Edges to Merge check.
4. If any errors are reported, repair them using the Merge All Edges command.
Next, check for edges containing redundant points:
5. Select the Validation command.
6. Run the Edges with Redundant Vertices check.
7. If any errors are reported, repair them using the Remove Redundant Vertices command.
Procedure: Clean Data Boundary
Once all obsolete intersections are repaired, you can clean the data boundary.
1. Make the All Data layer active.
2. Select the Clean Data Boundary command.
Any duplicate edges along the boundary of the product are removed. Results are displayed in the Output window.
