How Publications Module Processes Data

Data that is stored in HPD can be captured by Publications Module.

The following graphic demonstrates the internal processing that occurs when data is entered into Publications Module.

Data is converted to an in-memory XML document that includes basic information and related metadata for each captured feature, such as:

Feature acronyms

Feature object identification numbers

Coordinate positions.

This internal XML document is then given to an XSLT processor along with a defined XSLT rules file to produce XML content that matches the catalogue record/field structures. The XML results are interpreted to create or update Publication records.
